Each year Squamish plays host to one of the largest congregations of wintering bald eagles in North America between the months of November and January.

Squamish is home to hundreds of the wintering bald eagles; and the annual return of the spawning salmon signals the return of the eagles to Squamish.

The Squamish River watershed provides not only food but also security, in the form of roosting and perching trees, allowing for spectacular eagle viewing opportunities.
